Introduction
Some of the accessible features at Almond Hill House:
- ramp from the terrace to the main house
- kitchen, living room and library on one level
- wide doors and gates (with a few exceptions)
- ample parking right up to entrance to property
Note that some users of self-propelled wheelchairs may need assistance on the ramp.
Unfortunately, there are no bed-hoists and the property is not suitable for guests using large mobility scooters.
The Olive room
The Olive room is a step-free bedroom (16sqm) with a step-free bathroom/shower with grab-bar (5 sqm). There is also a grab-bar next to the WC. Entrance and bathroom doors are 80cm wide.
The bedroom is four metres from the parking area. The house is ten metres across the main terrace.
Access into the house is via a concrete ramp leading to the library, kitchen and living room areas.
Blind and visually-impaired guests
The heart of Almond Hill House – its kitchen, living area, library and utility room – is on one level, so familiarising yourself with the property is easy.
Generally, there is good lighting and colour contrasts within the property – eg white walls and dark wood doors.
On arrival, we are happy to spend time showing you around the property – and also make adjustments, like removing excess chairs and plant pots.
