Órgiva
Órgiva is a 20-minute walk and bursts with bars and shops, including a fishmonger and an organic food place.
Pick up produce at Thursday’s market or enjoy a meal at the several good eateries – including Morrocan, Italian and, of course, Spanish.

The white villages
Stunning views, a chocolate factory, hikes, jamón and home-spun rugs – it’s a short drive (or bus ride) to the white villages of Pampaneira, Bubión and Capileira.
Venture further to Trevélez and the ‘Gerald Brenan’ village of Yegen. A joyous journey whichever route you take.

Lanjarón
The town, famous for its mineral water, is a 12-minute drive by car (or bus). Visit the renowned mineral water spa, ruins of a Moorish castle – plus the water and honey museums.
Fill up at one of the many fountains along the streets and in plazas.

Beaches
In little over 35 minutes you could be swimming in the Mediterranean Sea at Salobreña with its seafood restaurants.
La Herradura, Almuñécar (castle, aqueduct and Phoenician fish salting factory) and Nerja (famous for its caves) are a little further on.

Granada
The magical city of Granada, famous for the Alhambra, is a must for any holiday. Easy to get to by bus or car (50 minutes), we can share our favourite places to visit.

Málaga, Córdoba and more
Head further afield to Córdoba and the magnificent Mezquita, or Málaga for the Alcazaba, Picasso museum and bustling markets.
Venture east to Almería, the Tabernas Desert and Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park – a two hours’ drive.

Walking, horse riding, skiing and more
There are lots of activities for children and adults alike, all nearby to Almond Hill House. It could be a stroll around 1000-year-old olive trees or something more challenging higher up the mountains!
